Digital Marketing Tips

With digital marketing continuing to become more and more prevalent, it’s important to keep up with the changes taking place in the industry. Whether you’re interested in increasing your reach through ads or working on building up your website’s SEO, there are plenty of opportunities out there to help you spread the word about your business or product – if you know where to look! To get you started on optimizing your business and improving its success, here are seven digital marketing tips you can’t afford to ignore.

1) Don’t Waste Your Money on Ads That Get Ignored

If you’re new to digital marketing, you may not realize that ads aren’t always effective. Some advertising strategies and tools may get you a lot of views, but if those people don’t interact with your ads (for example, if they just see them and leave), then you aren’t converting those clicks into customers. Instead of wasting money on ads that get ignored, develop an inbound marketing plan that focuses on brand awareness instead of sales.

2) Spamming Gets Results, But at What Cost?

Spamming isn’t cool anymore. It wasn’t cool in 2001 and it sure as hell isn’t now. The thing is, I understand why spammers do what they do, even if that doesn’t make me like them any more.

3) Audience Is Everything

If you’re considering marketing on social media, be sure you’re targeting a specific audience that is relevant to your brand. Sending out spam across social media platforms will do more harm than good. Pay attention to each platform’s audience in order to figure out where your intended audience will most likely see your ads and what they might be interested in—even if they don’t realize it yet. It may even help you brainstorm ideas for new products or services down the road.

4) Include a Call-to-Action in Every Post

If you want your website’s visitors to do something, you should ask them in a clear, specific way. That’s what a call-to-action (CTA) is. A CTA is an element on your website that prompts users to take action. At least once per post, make sure there’s a CTA asking readers to click through and visit your site’s landing page or subscribe to updates via email.

5) A Brand Voice Will Help Build Trust

Make sure your brand voice matches your brand’s personality. Your tone and messaging should align with your brand so people know who you are and that they can trust you—this is especially important in digital marketing. By creating a consistent experience for customers, they feel more connected with your brand, which makes them more likely to buy from you, return often or refer their friends.

6) Influencers Are Important, but Only if They Share Quality Content

Find digital marketing influencers in your niche, and follow them on social media. Follow their blogs. Engage with them and offer value to build a relationship. If you can establish a good rapport, they’ll be more likely to share your content rather than ignore it as spam—or vice versa, if you’re sharing their content.

7) Try Something New Every Day

We all get stuck in routines and ruts every once in a while. By regularly trying new digital marketing strategies, we can keep our adverts feeling fresh and avoid spamming our target audience. So long as you remain ethical with your ads, you’re unlikely to experience any negative feedback as well!
